You will be part of a team responsible for developing new software solutions for our customers. Together with other Architects you will set the direction for designing new features where usability, resilient communication and distributed/networked behaviour are at the core.

You will align the technical product direction with the business owner team to ensure that architectural choices support both current needs and future scalability.

Some of your key tasks will be to: Design and evolve distributed system and network communication patterns (e.g. APIs, protocols and integration points) that enable robust and efficient communication across components and platforms.

Collaborate with your team and guide them during the development phase to ensure the features fulfil product and system requirements, Ensuring that new product releases fulfil key software quality attributes such as security, scalability, performance and maintainability, Drive initiatives to improve the team’s way of working, to be efficient and ensuring high quality code, Work on end-to-end solutions within one or more product verticals, typically involving multiple teams, and ensure that each team’s work fits into a coherent overall architecture.

Joining the team Our Defence Mobile program delivers software to vehicles and the dismounted commander – SitaWare Frontline and SitaWare Edge. The software can be used in military operations as well as for disaster relief operations. And it provides an API that allows customers to integrate with sensors and drones.

It implements resilient network protocols, so front-line commanders have a shared situational picture. Above all, there is a high focus on ease of use. The Mobile program consists of seven scrum teams situated in Aarhus, Denmark and Bucharest, Romania.

Joining as our new Architect, you will be part of one of our Aarhus-based teams, which currently consists of seven developers and one tester. You will join a well-established team, who have been working together for some years and are ready to welcome you onboard.

Your qualifications Our new Architect preferably brings a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or similar, and at least two years of experience as a Software Architect.

Additionally, you bring experience with development and maintenance of products, with expertise in core software architecture principles and patterns with the ability to apply them to both frontend and backend solutions.

In this role, you can expect to work with following technical aspects, which you preferably already have competencies within: Modern object-oriented languages and frontend technologies (e.g. React, Angular or similar), SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, code reviews, and automated testing, Strong knowledge of network communication, including protocols, routing and resilience in degraded networks, Cross platform development: our solutions run on Windows, Android, and Linux.

Additionally, you must have strong communicational competencies in both oral and written English, capable of presenting scopes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Given the nature of the domain, Defence experience or knowledge is an advantage but it is not a requirement.

Please note that you must be able to present a clear criminal record and have lived in a NATO and/or an EU country for the past seven years as we work with security-classified projects.
